The graceful Crinoid has been around for 450 million years and still lives today, in deep waters. Abundant crinoid fossils occur as single crinoid fossils or double crinoid fossils. These crinoids on stalks resemble the "sea lilies" for which they are named; crinoids without stalks are called "feather stars."
